Is this a good progression of mods. What am I missing?

Ok some of you may have seen in the show and shine thread but a deer hit the front of my car. The insurance actually quoted me for a new UICP and intercooler so im pretty happy.

For my first stage im going to get the ETS intercooler and piping kit. Im also going to get the ETS intake kit and a Cobb AP. So my induction side will be taken care of.

My second stage is going to be a TBE, boost and wideband gauges. I know this should probably be my first mod but insurance is paying for at least half the first mods and I dont have enough cash to do everything at once right now. So I figured I should start somewhere.

My questions are do I need a 3 port and a blow off valve. And if I do need these parts when should I include them. Also if someone could explain the main benefits and downside of these parts. Ive seen so many different views on blow off valves I cant decide if its something I need or not. This car is pretty close to a daily driver so I dont want anything to radical.

Is there anything im missing?

Looks good to me. The 3 port isn't always necessary, but your tuner can help you decide if you need one or not. The stock bov is fine, no need to change it. It looks like your on your way to a fun car.

Skip the BOV. A 3-port is optional, but if you plan to stick with Cobb's OTS maps then you'll want to retain the stock boost control solenoids. Get a 3-port once you get a protune or start self-tweaking/tuning.

Intercooler should be stage 2, no need to do that first. Also, no need to spend $ on a 3 port. Not going to give you any more power, so why do it? No BOV either. You will have more problems and the stock is plenty good.

Here is the best bang for your buck to start...
1. TBE exhaust
2. Upper Intercooler pipe
3. Drop-in filer (or full intake if you have the extra cash)
4. Tune (custom on a dyno - CBRD is probably close to you)

A boost gauge would be good to start, but a wideband is optional unless you will be tuning yourself or adding stuff after a tune.

The intercooler isn't going to matter much, if anything at this stage. Why spend $1,000 on an intercoller and lower pipe when it may get you 0-10 HP at this level. Save it for later when you are pushing more boost with E85 or upgrading turbo's.

+1 on skipping the BOV, pointless at this point.

You're forgetting non-power mods. Underhood shifter bushings/gate bushing and an upgraded front motor mount (I like the AMS 70a) make the shifting feel absolutely fantastic! Throw on a rear sway bar to, keep the car flatter in corners and handle very nicely.

These are the basics IMHO and should go right along with an intake, TBE, and tune.

Spend the money you were going to put into piping and FMIC on these basics and just put together a well-rounded car. Then do UICP. Then do FMIC. But first, the basics
