Need some help guys, working on a buddies X today and on the drive to the shop he had a deathly noise coming from the drivetrain, and it is speed dependant. Sounds like either the t-case or the tranny, so we swapped in new t-case fluid while we had it in the air... below is the video...

Was the t-case factory overfilled? Did you remove the fill bolt before the drain? How much sludge was on the trash magnet?

It was not overfilled, there was a tad of sludge on the drain, nothing out of the ordinary... seems like it is more a tranny problem, but sounds likethe VIII/IX tcase death whine...
