Clutch advise

Need some input on which clutch and flywheel to use. My Car is an 08 X GSR, it is my DD but I also track it at VIR and may enter a couple auto x events this year. I want a clutch that is good for dd and road racing. I currently have an AMS intake, Buschar 3" cat back, and Cobb AMS Stage 1 93 tune. Thanks for any input.

Exedy twin is a really nice clutch. Great pedle feel and grabs hard but not too hard.

How much power are you making/plan on making?

Not sure how much I'm making on my current set up, never had it on a dyno. Future plans will be in the 350-400 range.

You should need a twin disc at that power. My car was dynoed at 395 on a low reading mustang dyno and I got the Exedy Stage 2 HD clutch with ACT Streetlite flywheel and it is holding up great.

if you dont want to spend the $1k+ for a twin disc, you could go with a clutchmaster FX300 or FX400, or Spec 3+.

any of those are good and are proven to take 500+ ft-lbs of torque

please post a thread or video with someone running 400-500 ft-lbs of torque on this clutch. (not being a dick)

ps I just ordered this clutch, I would love to know how they feel, and the capability of them.

I don't know if it is any different from the 8 to the 10, but I have the exedy twin and it has been nothing but good to me. I DD mine as well.

I ran a clutchmasters stage 3 on my VIII, was putting out 370hp and 390tq to the wheels. Was great and did many hard launches. Was pleased, would like to try out Spec on my X. What do u think?

remeber when dealing with clutches you should be looking at torque ratings...not hp

My buddy has an X and tried out the Spec clutch and had nothing but issues with it. Might as well spend the extra $ for a little insurance with the Exedy Twin. To each their own though.

I am reading that the spec 3+ holds up to 595ft/lbs. I am currently needing a new clutch, the car is at 500whp with plans to go 600whp. Can anyone vouch for this clutch holding up under these conditions?
