Exclamation Urgent help needed

Straight to the point.

only mod AMS short air intake-had since 2010

Heading out to the store, when while accelerating I heard a my boost blow off. I can hear the turbo spooling, but there is not much power.

It starts idleing normal and then slowly increases to 2000+ RPM
I checked for boost leaks, and vaccume lines but I can't find anything.
The car now feels laggy, and does not seem like it's boosting correctly.

Went to Advance, and had the codes read=
Po131
Po102

I need some help or sugestions ASAP My car is under warranty, but I live in GA, and I'm now in NC. I'm hoping that I'll be able to at least mke it home tomorrow, and take it to the dealership First thing on Friday, I'm only worried about the AMS intake voiding the warranty. HELP suggestions?

p0102=Mass airflow circuit low input
p0131=Heated oxygen sensor (front) circuit low voltage

Sounds intake/MAF related... Double check and make sure everything is connected properly, and nothing loosened up, popped off etc. Also check the dreaded line by the dipstick that always pops off too to make sure its still on there also.

Sounds like your intake fried your MAF sensor (P0120). The p0131 is for the front O2 sensor.

You know the AMS intake requires a retune, right?

Do you have the heat shield installed and are you running a tune? Not having a tune with the AMS sri will cause the car to run even richer as well which is not good. You fuel economy has to have been horrible if you are running that with out a tune.

There are tunes by mail or you can go to a local tuner that either has a dyno or does street tunes. Up to you what you want. Dyno tuning will cost you more though.

More importantly at this point is to figure out where my problem is so that I can get that fixed first. As soon as that is fixed I'll get the mail in tune. This is my daily driver. I have to get it home tomorrow so that I can put the stock intake on until I can get the tune. is it the MAF or 02 sensor? will I be able to limp it home 267 miles tomorrow? Damn I have the worst luck!

I think you should be able to get it home fine. Just don't push it too hard.

Pick up the Cobb AP and throw the AMS stage 1 tune on it will clear up a lot of your problems.

Now with that said, with all do respect but how does someone own a 34k car throw an intake on it and not know that they have to get the car tuned? These aren't cheap little ricer econo boxes that you can just throw things on and not think twice about. This is the exact reason why I would never buy a car like this used. Sorry for my rant. GL

This is actually my third evolution. I wanted to keep it as stock as possible until the warranty was up. I thought it may have needed at tune, But I was given this intake used and was told that that the EVO X would remap it'self with the intake, Because I usually drive like an *** I didn't notice the fuel mileage so much. Actually at 75 mph I have been getting close to 240 miles per tank, when I'm being conservative.

I wish I bought mine used I spent 43K on mine I actually ordered it before it was out, and was one of the first people to own one in MD.

I just need to know if I need to replace the MAF or o2 sensor. I'm planning on reinstalling the stock intake and taking it to the dealership, screw it.

I read on a thread somewhere that at first the ECU does take into account for the increase efficiency of air flow and you will have enhanced performance but, after it has been on for a while the logic of the ECU will start to make the car run richer and actually decrease the hp. AMS actually states on their website that with a MBC and a proper tune they were able to get 40hp just out of the addition of the intake alone.

Hook up a volt meter to the MAF if its fried you will know it by the reading you get on there. I want to say you just need a tune though.

Put on your stock one and see if that helps first. Could just be that you were not tuned for that intake. If after that it still not running good then I would take it to the dealer. The only form of an intake that would not really need a tune would be a drop in filter. Although a tune would still be good for max gains in HP.
