Running rich/boost spike caused by exhaust leak?

So I have a Perrin TBE on my Evo, and a AGP intake right now. Cobb told me it would be fine to use their intake stage 2 maps with this intake. When I was running the AEM stage 2 map, I was hitting 28psi in 3rd gear, which seemed a tad high, and now I'm using the LWG map and the car just doesn't seem nearly as quick, and i dislike it.

Today my friend was driving behind me and I boosted it through second, and he said it reeked like gas, bad.

Am I running rich due to the fact I have a leak between my catted Perrin DP, and Perrin CB? Also could this be the reason for my boost spike? Its a decent sized leak, somehow the bottom of the gasket is missing, and you can feel it coming out when idling.

I have a gasket on order from Perrin, should be here this week.

Thanks guys

Off the shelf maps from Cobb are made to run on the rich side due to all kinds of different variables. If you don't have it already, you need to get a wideband o2.

I also have the Perrin TBE and am currently running an OTS map, which is running rich at WOT (AFR ~11.2). That combined with the high flow cat will make it so that you smell gas from the exhaust - certainly do from mine. Exhaust leak would make that a little worse, but you will likely have the same after fixing the exhaust gasket.

An exhaust leak or any turbo leak for the most part will cause the car to spike. I had a loose bolt on my turbo inlet pipe and the car was boosting to about 28 PSI. Once I tightened the bolt down the car ran fine. I also had an issue with the actuator being loose which has been fixed. Now the car is boosting a bit more than I would like so I am going to my tuner tomorrow to have the boost turned down to about 25-26 PSI.
