If your thinking AMS, get the AQ Motorsports intake instead. Same design, better finish and comes with all the needed hoses, vac lines and cheaper too.

$229

AFE* (also need a silicon turbo inlet pipe)
K&N* (includes a matching UICP)
Cobb (also need a silicon turbo inlet pipe)
ETS

Those are the intakes I recommend for stock/small stockframe turbo X's (listed in the order I like them). They all utilize the stock MAF housing and two* of the four have very nice heatshields that take advantage of the stock snorkel.

I been running the stock tune with the Injen intake + UICP plus the Invidia N1 catback for a couple weeks now with out a single issue. Runs strong and smooth.

I have the Cobb Accessport here, just waiting to get my DP/TP installed so I can run the stg 2 map.

i just installed the ETs intake last friday, and i was impressed. really big K&N air filter and from having bought the AMS intake before on my previous Evo, I would pick ETS every time. I got mine in the Reg Stainless finish and I love it.

http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/E...-X-Intake.html

The ETS Mitsubishi Evolution X Intake includes a 5.0" velocity stack making it the largest intake on the market. This intake has been proven to gain over 56whp when used with a manual boost controller at 22psi.

We also use a factory MAF housing which requires zero rescaling compared to the other intakes on the market that need a custom tune to run.

Thanks Guys!

Any questions, let me know!

Michael

regarding the stock tune question:

I ran ETS Intake, ETS Catback and ETS test pipe with 300 cell HFC for months on the stock tune. No codes, lots of torque, no babying. I baselined dyno'ed with those mods and after tune got another 80lbs of torque.

I just installed the ETS intake and UICP last weekend and I'm really happy with how everything turned out. I rarely find pictures of the brushed stainless steel piping, so I thought I'd share.

Does the ETS intake have hte idle surge issue when the AC is on? Does the heat shield make a noticeable difference?
