Injectors and Fuel Pump

hey guys im planning to replace the stock turbo with the bbx full turbo and run E85. i had a question on what size injectors i should run with the car being ran on e85 with the bbx full turbo? also what size fuel pump do u guys suggest? i feel like the walboro 255 would be too small for e85 and the bbx turbo, and i heard 1000cc injectors wouldnt be maxed out with the walboro 255 fuel pump. i was thinking the walboro 400? does anyone know if this fuel pump would need a fuel pressure regulator? kinda new to all of this. and im currently deployed in afghanistan and just wanted to finally get the evo done. thanks guys

It really helps if you let us know your power goals.

For injectors FIC 1100's or ID1000's will work fine.

Dont run the 400 with e85. It doesnt work, and they throw that little disclaimer right on their site. There was someone on here that had gone through 2 Wally 400's, and both failed on e85.

Get a double pumper!

does my set up really need the double pumper? i mean since im only on the stock block and head, and only using the bbx full turbo with e85. im not looking to really push the stock motor, for reliability reasons as the car is my daily driver. and if i do need the double pumper, where can i get it? blaqops is currently down and the only place i seen still even selling they're single pump kit is speedelement.

Youll need bigger injectors like Waltezee said earlier. I'm running the fic1100 hi z,, and the more flow from the pump is needed. I went with the Buscher Racing double pumper. There have been people running modded 255lph walbros on e85, but I think it doesn't flow enough for high boost. You could try the walbro 400 and if it doesnt work, your only out $150 or so.

I knew that I would need more, so I went with the tried and true.

What mods are you looking at besides e85 fuel pump and injectors

That's been my rule of thumb. Your not typically running pump gas over 30psi (under 30 = low boost) and your not typically running e85 under 30psi (over 30 = high boost). ymmv

Thanks. So, do you think if you were under 30, possibly 23-28 psi on e85, a single unmodified walbro would work or would it still be maxing out the flow?

if it was me.. i'd follow the general consensus on this one.. 1100's and double pumper.. may as well get something that you know will flow the right amount of fuel with plenty of head room.

Well, if it were me, I am not sure I would run e85 at 23 -28 psi. You really are not taking full advantage of the fuel's benefits in my opinion.

Since you will need a tune and the supporting mods anyway, the real benefits start when you turn up the boost.

You could run it at lower boost without issues from what I am aware, but for all of the money in mods and a good tune, it doesn't make alot of sense (unless of course you can't find 93 octane pump gas in your area) .

Take a look at this too for the pros and cons of e85:

Good luck!

Great articles, def learned alot reading the ID one. The thread on the other hand was a but different with boost, simply saying that you could run more of a conservative tune with e85 rather than the 93 and make the same power at a lesser boost. I'm at 25psi, currently running on 93 with a 255. I just happen to have some 1100 injectors fall in my lap, which is why I've been thinking of e85 more and more. I'm happy with the power level I have now and just doing other improvements along the way, e85 would just add to my list. I really don't feel like buying a double pumper atcm which is why I was wondering if a single Wally would work safely.
Thanks again

from what ive been hearing from a lot of people who run e85 is that with the 1000cc injectors they run with the wally 255, the wally 255 would be maxed out before the injectors would. which they said if they had a bigger fuel pump, they would make more power. but being the fuel pump is maxed out and the injectors arent, their not getting all that they can. i too dont want to get a double pumper, because for one im still on the stock motor and not looking to push it too hard. but is there another single fuel pump anyone else suggests?
