So Ive got a 2011 Evo X under warranty, and a whinning noise has progressivly been getting worse< I thought it may have been the "death whine" of the t-case. The car has been at the dealership for a few hours now and they have ruled out the tcase, and say the sound is comng from the tranny. But they dont know whats gone bad yet.

They have offeredme two option:
1- keep the car and keep driving it till it gets worse so it'll be easier for them to diagnose(he said this is hat they'd prefer)
2- have them order some new bearing for the tranny, but he says no promise that will fix the issue, and ill be out of a car for a few days.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what it could be? It seems like if I just kept letting the car get worse, I may eventually need a whole new transmission. Its nice Ive got a warranty, but if it doesnt happen for a few more months who knows if they'll try to blame it on me for "abusive driving" or some bs like has happened to others.

PS My car is 100% stock if that matters at all
