Clutch suggestion

Hey guys, I'm going to be getting my car tuned in the next week or so. I should be making in the area of 340hp. I know that if I launch my car there goes my stock clutch, so I was looking around for some clutches. A lot of people recommend the ACT HDSS, But I was wondering if anyone had any feed back on the Competition Clutch stage 3 segmented ceramic clutch. Was wondering if anyone recommends it, what's the life expectancy on it, and how it performs. I do go to the drag strip often throughout the year.

Thanks again
Chris

I personally have the Competition Stage 2 HD Street clutch coming. The Stage 3 is a good choice too, but my guess is it's more holding power than you need unless you're planning on adding quite a bit more power. The Stage 3 will hold more power and grab faster than the Stage 2, but the Stage 2 will last longer as long as you're not over powering it (340whp is well within it's range). I ran their Stage 3 segmented Kevlar on my IX.

I know the new stage 3 is ceramic instead of Kevlar. How long did your stage 3 last in your IX. (Miles)

I had it ~24k miles before selling the car. Then new owner destroyed it because he didn't know how to drive; he went through something like six clutches and two engines the first year he owned it. He eventually sold it and leased a GT-R I believe.

What kind of torque does it hold? I know what mine is rated for but after a years worth of drag racing, and autox, my clutch was starting to see wear with minor boltons. Have a new one now, but am not planning on launching anymore since I have even more torque now lol.

When you had your IX, any complaints about the clutch or words of warning?

I'm assuming cc makes rebuild kits for their clutches as well? What fly wheel did you use with the clutch?

Rebuild kits? Nothing to rebuild unless you're just talking about replacement discs?

I'm most llikely staying with the stock flywheel this time around.

Really depends. If you sit in a lot of traffic then yes, it'll make your drive a little easier. Lightweight flywheels have their advantages, but you have to be quicker on the clutch pedal which can get annoying in stop & go conditions.

"Rebuild kits" are really more a thing for multiplate clutches. Single plate clutches there really isn't much more than the clutch plate, unless you mean just getting a clutch plate and not a new flywheel as well, which is the normal way with almost every single plate clutch (there are a few package exceptions).
