Slipping Clutch and Grinding gears
Slipping Clutch and Grinding gears
Hi
Did a search trying to find if anyone else had this same problem before, but nothing relevant came out.
My car is a 08 GSR with 28k miles, bought it used about a month ago.
Decided to take the car to a local shop who work on EVOS, to install spacers/springs and at the same time remove the clutch line restrictor pill, replace all fluids (tranny, t-case, rear diff, brake) and also installed a short shifter along with base, pivot and cable bushings to help with notchy/grinding gears.
Picked up the car last saturday, 2nd gear grind was gone, still have grind but only at WOT on 3rd and 4th gears (my mechanic says synchros are done). But the weird thing is that now my clutch started slipping even at normal cruise, if you try jamming the gas in any gear, it would slip and then catch up. Maybe is just coincidence, but before it didn't have this problem clutch engages really high, pedal almost all the way up.
Is it just coincidence or could've they done something that might have caused this? also, what do You guys think about the gears (3rd and 4th) still grinding at WOT?
