hey gyuys I was wondering if you modify your evo x can it give you the same power as evo 9? cause I know the 4g63 can giv you a lot of power.. notsure about the 4b11 t... basically I need to know if you feel the same way in a evo x like you would feel in a evo ix when changing turbo etc? but with a stock block.

After owning a IX and a X, I can tell you both modify almost identically. Mod for mod you'll make about the same power with both.

Mods were nearly identical, except my IX had cams and a lightweight flywheel. For this chart, both are stock turbo & 93-octane pump gas. X spools faster, IX made a bit more top-end (makes sense due to the cams and the IX having the slightly larger stock turbo).

While what was stated above may be true, the X is a lot heavier of a car as well, and doesnt have as raw of a feeling as the IX. The X is much more suitable for actually using on a day to day basis.

The X is smoother and less violent, but just as quick/fast. The IX & X GSR 5-speed gearing is nearly identical. For handling, the S-AWC system more than makes up for the additional weight and actually creates a more nimble feeling car.

Making power is no longer an issue. It's how the cars feel/handle going down the road that's separating them. The X feels like a nice and pricey condom. The VIII/IX is like going commando!

Pretty much sums it up.

Kracka has enough experience with both and knows how to objectively compare them, unlike most people on this forum.

HAHA pretty much sums it up. I have had both and its just like they said the Evo 9 is more race ready and the EVOX is more daily friendly. I am actually looking for a 9 just to do the front facing kit . Oh and the EVO X is harder to work on since all the turbo is in the opposite way.

I've had passengers in my X tell me that it pulls just as hard as my 8 did, same basic bolt-ons and a tune. Personally, I like the way my X handles more. But the 8 had more of a "raw" feel where the X is smoother and more refined.

Yeah...one day I hope to own both at the same time. I really miss my IX but at the same time I love my X.
