CBRD- Ball Bearing turbos, power, etc
Hello-
We have been getting quite a lot of inquiries- and shipping quite a few Ball Bearing BBX EVO X turbos.
Now to cover a few things---
everyone asks which turbo I like best... up until the Ball Bearing CHRA- I preferred our BBX lite for most customers and myself. Why? I love spool and part throttle response- and I am usually willing to sacrifice a few whp for some response.
Fast Forward to today- my choice is our BBX Full Ball Bearing- and the reason? you get the spool of the bbx lite (in some cases quicker)- great throttle response- and the darn things are basically indestructible... whereas a Journal Bearing can be damaged from overboosting, boost leaks, poor oil etc....
We have YET to have a Ball Bearing failure....
Yes they are expensive (around 2500$ or so)- but I dont believe there is another viable option in our price range with proven results and reliability in BB. I believe FP charges about the same for a USED core upgrade- where our price is a NEW unit.
Here are some dyno charts....
This is a 2012 EVO X GSR- originally had stock intercooler and downpipe, but associated bolt ons- We added a bbx full, manifold, downpipe, injectors and our FMIC-
you can see the results over the car previously tuned by us-
And here is a 2012 EVO X MR- which we added TMP AMS cams- BBX full BB- over its STOCK horsewpower numbers--
You can see both are making around 400whp on our mustang dyno (the first one doing so at less than 24 psi- keep in mind it was cold outside)--- the other doing so at slightly higher boost (the MR sst sucks up some power)
Just wanted to follow up with some information since we've been getting alot of inquiries lately-
Cheers
