I have had Injen Intake n UIncp combo, now currently run ETS Intake n Uincp combo, but was thinking on changing things up a bit with a Cobb short Ram. I have never done a direct dyno or performance comparison test seeing as though I don't have endless pockets. But I would much appreciate if anyone else might have any input or information on what they have experienced using the 3 at different times. 440whp 360wtq EF3 RT tuned

I doubt that any of those intakes make a huge difference over the other or if any at all. Why are you changing intakes? Were others giving you issues? I have an ETS on mine and it's been solid.

Honestly I was just thinking of doing a different look and possibly louder sound with a short ram. Lol no real good reason. ETS has been more than solid I agree

I'm not sure you will get a louder sound out of any of the competitor intakes. Most of the noise derives from the metal pipe on the intake.

Thanks!

Let me know if you want to sell (or donate) your ETS parts...I'm itching for mods and on a tight budget ATM.

The intake vendor really doesn't change much. I went with the ETS because I loved the sound.

I have the Cobb and I am happy with it. It looks nice under the hood and has a nice sound to it.
I see RT tuned your car, are you in NEPA?

I have the titanium ETS intake, and it could be me, but I think it's just a tiny tiny bit louder than the stainless (regular) version in my friend's car. Might be slightly thinner walls or just the metal vibrates differently.

The Cobb is poly isn't it? Would that mean it is not as loud as a metal intake?

The Cobb intake is perfect. Yes it is loud and anything louder would just be to ricer.

Agreed!
I think you said it perfect. I do not have an exhaust yet, with my Cobb Intake and BPV it has a very nice sound, it is pretty loud but not like the ricer sound. IMHO an EVO should NOT sound like a ricer, It to good to sound like that. This is why I am having such a hard time finding the exhaust I want. I want something that is sort of loud and deep but not the ricer sound.

I've had my heart set on the ETS intake but this thread got me curious so I checked out the Cobb on MAPerformance's website. It's a good bit cheaper but with no heat shield I would be a little concerned about heat soak and/or erratic idle. Can anyone with the Cobb intake chime in on these concerns?
