Full bolt ons, time to upgrade Turbo!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums, and have had my Evo X for nearly a year now. I took my Evo to the dealer for a recall on the master Slave cylinder, and they took it upon themselves to reflash my ECU and existing open source tune! x.x

With that being said, If I have to get it retuned, I would like to upgrade the turbo. I recently purchased a Cobb AP. My other mods include:
AEM intake
Greddy Catback
Ultimate Racing Down pipe
Ultimate Racing test pipe
Ultimate Racing UICP/LICP
ETS 3.5" intercooler
Grimmspeed EBCS
Competition Stage 3 single disc clutch

My goal is 380-420whp on 93 pump. (Very few E85 stations in Alabama). The car made 316/317 on 91 on a mustang dyno prior to the incident. I was looking into the MAP EF3! If I'm having a shop install and tune for the new turbo (I was looking at TopSpeed Atlanta) are there any other mods I should have done to the car prior? I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks!!

We have the same setup except I am on stock clutch and my injectors are 1000cc, with E85 compatible bigger fuel pump. On Cobbs Mustang dyno I pulled 381 tq/ 361 hp. Just to give ya an idea where ya would be at with E85. I am lucky I live in the middle of 2 stations that sell E85. Have you thought about storing E85 at your house? I bought 3 race fuel containers and they came in very handy when the E85 stations were farther away. Would need a pickup to get the E85. Yes it is a pain in *** but to me it is well worth it.

with a bigger turbo, you will need new injector and fuel pump.
also, you will need either porting your stock exhasut manifold or buy an aftermarket one.
Map EF3 is a good turbo, but the downside is its not a ball bearing turbo. if you like you can either get the gtx3071 or gtx3576. those are the best BB turbo beside FP.

btw, is your downpipe with o2 housing? if not, then you will need another downpipe that with o2 housing.

What's the best BB turbo for the money and ease of installation and is the manifold absolutely necessary?

There are a few stations but they are out of reach, I'll keep it in mind but storing it is a little much. Thanks though!

Yes, my DP has the 02 housing. I don't want to go cheap, but I hear great things from EF series, and I'm really leaving towards the 2.5. Greater spool would be nice, but I don't want to spend another $1000+ just to have BB. What manifold would you recommend? MAP tubular? ETS?
Thanks!

I've also been partial to the Full Race tubular exhaust manifolds, great power across the RPM band and even with maybe a 100 rpm spool loss the car is very responsive above the boost threshold. EF3 definitely is more top end, where as MHI or EF2.5 would sacrifice a little to regain some spool and response. Both sizes are good for the street, you just need to set your goals.

As others have mentioned you will definitely want to upgrade the fuel system with 1000cc injectors and 250-300 LPH fuel pump.

I'd look at the CBRD BBX full BB. Awesome turbo. Short answer, no a manifold is not absolutely necessary...but injectors/fuel pump are.

3576r are capable for over 600 with the supporting mod.
on pump you are looking for about 400-450whp.

Thanks everyone. I'm really narrowing it down to the MAP EF2.5 rebuild or a new MHI 18k. What to do....

bbx full BB is also a good option, but price is higher than gtx. or you can wait until FP to start sell the red/black bb again.

That one is pretty nice, and just a bit more flow than the MHI and EF2.5, so safe for stock block. $2600 is pricey tho...whew.

Worth every penny. It's really a great turbo...$2600 is definitely not the cheapest around though!

I'm really considering paying the extra $ for a BB turbo. Now I'm looking at FP Green BB, GTX3071R, and CBRD Full BB. Decisions decisions... I was also told that my Ultimate Racing DP (with bung) sucks and that I should get an AMS widemouth.
