Stock location turbos

Looking at stock location turbos to upgrade over my stock turbo over the winter/beginning of spring.

I have been considering the gtx3576r for many months now, waiting to pull the trigger. But I also thought about going with a full race EFR kit for a while but decided that was not the best for me.

BUT now you have Boost Resource making stock location housings for the efr turbos (7670, 8374, 9174). They currently are still developing and I think they said they'll be out February of next year.

The BW turbos are amazing in the full kits, everyone knows that. Do you guys think they will still perform in the stock location? Obviously it will be more restrictive because of the stock mani and the stock location DP. But compared to an gtx3576r, how do you guys think the 7670 or 8374 in stock location will do?

I am looking for something to get me to around 500whp on stock motor on e85. maybe a little more than 500whp. I know the gtx will do that, its been proven. and those 3 efr turbos can do it as well, but who knows if the 7670 can hit it in stock location. I am thinking it wont have any issues hitting it..but I am wondering about spool.

I guess there is really no way to see how it will spool until it gets tested, I am going to wait either way as the stock frame efrs look really promising.

Which would be better for stock motor? 7670 or 8374? With room to grow as well. I know the 8374 would have more room to grow but know sure how it would work on a stock motor. With bolt ons and e85 as well.

Let me know, what you guys think. Thank you!

There is a comparison.

The EFR turbos have titanium aluminide turbines, which is the most advanced material. About 50% lighter than inconel I believe. So the turbines can be larger = more power, but without the lag due to the low weight. If I was looking for a new X turbo, the boost resource EFR would be at the top of my list.

The exhaust manifold is not worth a lot of gains (tubular or cast). IMO I would want the stock manifold or a MAP stainless manifold over a tubular. Reason: heat, cracks, etc.

I would say wait for some dyno results of the boosted resources stock location kit. It may perform great, it may not.

If you have the $$$, you cannot go wrong with a EFR setup from Full-Race or CBRD. I particularly like CBRD's new twin scroll 7163 setup.

I would definitely go with another mani over stock since the stock one would most likely crack. its great how they have less lag but you cant really know for sure how itll perform at this point in time. Everything does look promising though which is good.

I will definitely be waiting for dyno results.

I thought about those, but I do not want to drop that much at the moment..plus I like to look as stock as possible
