Hi guys, i just have some question and also need some advice. So last night i was driving home from work and was just cruising around 40mph, then i decided to pull a little bit, so downshifted to 3rd gear. What heppened next got me scared, the stock upper intercooler pipe went out sounded like a boom, checked engine light went on, so i put the pipe back on and made sure everything is tight, now im getting a little paranoid of the sound that im hearing from inside while driving, not sure what it is. I currently have mhi 18k on evo x, 3.5 ets intecooler core with lower pipes, but the upper pipings. What do you guys think about this?

So your on the stock UICP? What is the sound your are hearing? I would make a video and post it up so we can be more helpful.

Yeah stock upper pipe, and its like a whinning sound

 

Have you done a boost leak test? It can be leaking somewhere else still.

 

No not yet, and i dont know how ��

 

Buy a boost leak tester from MAP , pretty easy to use

 

Invest in a UICP, that's the important one on the X. The LICP isn't a necessity on the stock frame stuff.
