Low Fuel Pressure - I'm LOST!!!!!!

When I first start my car up, it hits the 40ish base pressure that is normal... Then after I wait around 8 seconds or so it immediately hits 27ish psi..
My vacuum reads as normal as it did before.

I think it's able to hit the correct base pressure when I first start it because the fuel pump primes it up better or something..?

Here's my setup -

Boomba Fuel Rail
Fuel Labs Gauge
OEM Fuel Pressure Regulator
Aeromotive 340 in the tank
FIC 1100s

Here's the worst part - I was personally invited to have my car in an airshow for a little bit this weekend and now I'm thinking I may not be able have it running correctly by then :crap:

Please Help. Any advice is appreciated.

Check your voltage for your pump. Most of the time we have a problem with high fuel pressure.

Or maybe a bad pump???

Add an aftermarket fpr

SFL Autosports Jun 14, 2012 03:49 PM

make sure when the pump installed the rubber grommet is still in between there and the pump hasn't slipped out

You need to eliminate all possible other issues first. If anything his fuel pressure should be super high.

Will do. So it should just be at 14ish volts, correct?

Hope not, it's brand new and was working fine before.

K, give me the money and I'll go do that and find out it was something else.

Can you expand on this please? Sorry, I have a pretty bad memory of what everything looked like when I installed it.

Thanks for all of your replies.

Have u checked the small filter in the fuel pump assembly? It might be clogged, there for reading normal during the initial prime then dropping alot due to it being clogged.

It might not be the issue but it wont take longer than an hour to check...

Also double check the vaccum line running from the intake mani to the FPR, and ziptie it on there if you havnt already.

When I pull my pump out tomorrow to see my voltage I hope it's just the filter too. Thanks for the extra confidence!

Have you replaced your fuel pump relay?

I checked it. I swapped it out with my headlight relay and it works just fine.
