So who here is REALLY getting an Evo X?
Well you shouldn't, and you should. I don't know if you suffered the Magnesium turbo debacle in your part of the world, but it left a sour taste in Singapore and many other markets. Mitsu does not have a stellar record with groundbreaking tech out of the box. Give it a year or two for the bugs to be ironed out, that would be my advice.
...although I might be a hypocrite and not follow my advice myself, but that's what warranties are for, I guess.
But no modding for a year at least, if mods are even possible with the SST.
Had a pre-order...#2 in line that I sold off. (It's nuts that there's a market for preorder spots. LOL.) And for myself, #7 in line. Black MR with all the trimmings...no pricing available yet though :-(

My Cousin is going to (in his opinion) show me up by buying one. He's in the army and once he rode in my VIII loved it but didn't want to get a used one. He heard the X is coming and all of a sudden he's into evos now. I just hope he learns to drive first. Keeps asking me which is faster and better on a road course and yadda yadda yadda. I just want to tell him to suck it up and when he buys it we'll see who's quick and who just spent a $hitload
We get an RS trim here in Singapore. Stripped-down, no Brembos, no Recaros, 5MT, no S-AWC. And you're still left with a heavier car than the IX RS, without the electronic wizardry to make up for it (tho' it's supposed to have a stiffer chassis). Worth it? To me, the X is *defined* by the electronic mumbo jumbo - take it away and you're left with a soft looking heavy car, that's less ideal for the track than a IX RS. And the 4G63 is a proven tuning platform - that's what you want in a track car.
Get the X SST if you want comfort with a modicum of performance in a daily driven car (and maybe with an occasional track day thrown in) and the IX RS if you want to build a daily driven regular-weekend track warrior. I simply cannot find a niche for the X RS.

No money
Ah this sucks! It's going to be at least a couple of years for me, have to wait until transfer season and the house gets sold, to be able to put down a nice down payment. At least will be able to see what fairs better for the mod community between the 135 and the Evo X as I wait.
I'm going to sit back and watch everyone jump on the EVO X bandwagon. It's a beautiful car but I'm not even going to get my hopes up.... I'll stick with my VIII and call it a day....
I can't wait to see what you guyz do when ya'll get them.....
When I join'd EvoM I looked at how passionate everyone was with the EVO VIII... I just hope to see the passion with the EVO X.

+1 for a compatriot
That's why I ordered me a white X SST.
