Japanese EVO X videos

Here are some videos from Japan, the first is pretty short, but a pretty cool slide. The second is a test between the manual and the paddle shifter thing... but its all in Japanese. If someone would like to translate, I think it would spread some light on them. I hope they aren't a repost!!!

i just noticed in that 2nd video that the paddle shifters are stationary....meaning they aren't connected to the steering wheel....so if ur on a track and have to change gears in a turn u have to take one hand off of the steering wheel....u can even see the guy reach for it one time and he misses it cuz he is turning ......i dunno if the american versions are like this or if they have changed it or not....just seems like a bad idea to me

it's the same in the USDM version. and fwiw the ferrari paddles are stationary, as is the new GT-R paddles. this is the "norm" because the paddles are in the same place no matter how much you turn the wheel.

Another person that just wants to ***** about the X even though you can shift up or down with the stick just like a manual but you get two choices the stick or the paddles. QQ

Also if you are shifting gears around a corner you are already doing something wrong.

yea most magazines i read hate paddles that move with the wheel because in the heat of driving, the wheel is hardly straight, so if it is upside down, the paddle positions are "reversed"...having it stationary at all times makes it more natural to hit the one you want any time

Are you planning to race the evo on Daytona 500 or something? If you are turning for more then a few seconds its more of a curve in the road than a turn.

so you mean that when u turn a car, your wheel never gets upside down? you have never turned a wheel 180 degrees from center?you turn the wheel only a few degrees away from center? pshh, what an ignorant post
