Evo X Ultimate Sleeper?

Just wanted to stick up for the X a little, I have no intention of getting one because I am happy with my 8, but just wanted to shed a little good light on the car rather than contribute to all the bad rep it's been getting...

The Evo X would make a pretty darn good sleeper due to the fact that the Mitsubishi Lancer shares the same body with it...with a fender swap and front and rear bumper swap (as well as a hood swap I think) you would be driving a damn good sleeper

o yea the I/C might give something away unless u spray paint it black or something

Swapping fenders with the standard lancer would prob make it look weird or not fit at all...due to the X being wider all around than the regular lancer...

I was very excited about the X for the last year, then went to the dealer and said I wanted one, they said well your going to have to wait until spring '08 and pay 6k over sticker!!! I said F U, and they said well would you be interested in this new Mustang GT500... I just looked at him with a stupid look on my face and said "are you kidding"?

I can't understand 40k for that X, its ugly and will get left in the dust up against my IX... can't wait to spank a spoiled rich kid...lol...

Ha, sounds like the average douchebag salesperson that works at my local dealership. I asked a salesman there once: "Does this new Eclipse come with a limited-slip differential?" He replied, "Yes, it does have traction control."

Yep the X is the ultimate sleeper alright...not because it looks like a base lancer, but because it looks like a X...and everyone knows the X is slow. the only problem is you would have to make it fast first...lol

^^OP you are right no more tension at red light with a STI reviving next to you i mean common if you drive an evo IX how can you drive normal and be a sleeper hence X gets my vote

Im hoping so!! That way i can enjoy drive my X without any fear of extra attention from the police and every ricer with a muffler reving me at a light. I hear that is a problem with the IX

the more and more i see these side by side comparisons between the regular lancer and the evo x, the more I see the differences making the X stand out a lot more.

the jump from the 08 lancer to the Evo X is greater than the jump from the 06 lancers to the Evo IX. Without a doubt.

It's a neat idea, but I doubt it would work due to fitment issues.

Besides, isn't the hood considered functionally important for proper air flow? Sure you might get by for daily driving, but overheating every time you drive it hard would really suck.
