Buy NEW EVO X this summer or wait for 2009?????

I really want to pick up a new white X this summer but at the same time I kind of want to wait for the 2009's because I have a feeling they may add more power or shave some weight and this will assure me all the bugs are worked out, what do you all think is it worth waiting for even without a guarentee of these changes? Thanks

It is almost ALWAYS better to wait, but the real question is how long can you wait?

I'm waiting to see if the package/options change for the better next year. I'm a little disappointed in what the GSR doesn't come with as standard.

Another option would be to buy the 2008 and trade it in for the 2010 when that comes out because if its like the evo VIII's 2003-04 were exactly the same so there is a chance 2008-09 will be the same as well.

I'd just wait if I were you, its the first model out and theres bound to be bugs, and if you wait til the 2009, most bugs should be gone.

You should wait. A few of the X owners are already experience a transmission grind going from 1st to 2nd gear. Some have mentioned it. Some say they don't have it. So, seems like there is already a transmission Gremlin and it seems like less than 15 cars are sold so far.

This is the question I'm asking myself right now also. I just bought a 07 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi because I needed a new vehicle and a truck is far more convienent for my line of work than a car. But I can have it paid off by the end of the year if I decide to wait and pick an X up next year. BLAH I really don't want two car payments, not that I can't afford it I just hate the hassle of paying bills, but I really want an X.

Some VIIIs and IXs had a similar problem. Most didn't. My IX has shifted smooth as butter since the day I picked it up brand new at the dealership.

And, I never said I thought they would fix it. I don't have much faith in Mitsu to fix the transmission issue. The couple of guys who have posted about the problem with their X, have been told by the dealer that it is normal. It's not normal for a new car to grind the transmission when other new Xs don't have the same issue. But, that's the response from the dealerships so far. Typical Mitsu.

lol you're telling me bro, my truck gets 9-10 around town, 15-16 on the highways. For me it's the constant refilling that annoys me I don't like having to set time out of my day to get gas. 80 bucks to fill up a tank hurts too, but not so much when it's helping you earn that back in 2 or 3 hours of work for the week.

Next years will probably be identical. The following year will probably start to see minor changes.
