I love negotiating with car dealerships. My only requirement is that they have to provide free wireless internet so I can get factual data the entire time. I spent 4 hours on this deal though. Trust me guys, you can all do this. Just dont let them push you around, and it helps if you have a beacon score above 700, and your not completely upside down in your current vehicle.

Oh yeah, I forgot I got the sales manager to give me a WE OWE statement that included No Hassle Test Drives for LIFE. I then requested for the store owner to sign off on it, but couldnt do that. I also asked for a booster seat for my son from Recaro that matched the adult seats, and had the same leather on it, and I said the sales manager had to sell his hummer and buy a prius within the next 6 months. Those two items fell through tho

I did get the no hassle test drives voucher though that allows me to drive any car on the lot, no questions asked. As long as the big boss isnt around of course. So Ill have to go in during the evenings. Oh yeah, the sales manager has to wash my car any time I pull in and request it, but I doubt this will really happen.

Were the rebates Lancer specific or something else along the lines of Mitsu loyalty/college grad?

For those of you that are financing through Mitsu what kind of interest rates are you getting? I would buy now if they offered 0% like they did at the end of 05.

Here is the rebates page:
http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/j...s.do?loc=en-us

I did the lancer rebates, loyalty, military, etc. I did financing through my credit union at %5, but it looked like Mitsubishi had special financing deals in the 4's. I dont plan on making payments for more then 6 months to a year, depending on what the market does, so I didnt really shop around for rates.

First of all, he didn't pay any taxes on the car (no tax on cars in Oregon) and remember he had a trade.
So was there a payoff on the trade? So I guess your in College and the Military as well.

I owned my Evo VIII actually. Ive owned it for almost 2 years now. I am ex-military, injured in PGW, and I cheated on the college. I happened to be taking some classes at OIT and the certificate I got passed the grade for the requirements. That was just lucky actually. I graduated school years ago. Your right about the taxes though. It saves us a lot of money not having to pay that damn luxury tax. The final price is actually closer to 40k then it is to 39k though. I didnt get invoice though, which is what I was shooting for, but that was probably unrealistic anyway.

I would guess that the MSRP and the adds to be over $43000, you got a great deal.

One of the dealers in Portand said they have sold a couple of EVO's for $5000 over MSRP.
