Evo X in ILLINOIS??????
Evo X in ILLINOIS??????
Where the heck can I get a good deal on an Evo X in Illinois???? you guys listed dealer****s in texas and california and what not...... what about illinois????
And how much a month are some of you paying for yours????? I'm trying to get a feel for how much I'd have to shell out......
I currently have an 06 Eclipse GS that I pay $375 a month for...... and I wanted to compare the monthly payment on an Evo to that......
I'm trying to decide if I want to go for it or not.... Price IS an issue with me.... but I can afford to go up on my monthly payments!

^ well its understand able because mitsu is not doing good and they had a long wait for this one (X) to fill their pockets! let it settle down and have Xs sitting on the lots like no one wants them and than go bargain
. Don't try and bash Mitsu just because you can't buy an Evo X below invoice! For Christ sakes, the car came out in Illinois less than a week ago! Check yourself before you talk about a "bargain". As some have proven (AMS), this car COULD be great. For any dealer, west coast or not, to sell this car below invoice is riduculous. You will be waiting for quite some time to buy the car below, so enjoy your SI./sigh
Math is your friend, well maybe not in the case of a $40,000 car. Search on mitsu's site for dealers and give them all a call. And you could have the same payment if you put down enough to place the car where your 06' is....
I'm going to say your 06' is worth 15,000 trade in. Unless its a POS, expect less.(NJ wont tax you on your trade in, guessin the same for IL)
EvoX, lets give you a 35,000 car..
Thats 20,000.... Term? 60/mo 72/mo? Lets go 60/mo @ 7.9%APR and 6%sales tax....
20,000x6%(1.06) = $21,200x7.9%APR(1.079) =22,875/60mo = 381/mo
Fordmotors.com has a calc on it...along with many others...
Yay! for math......

You can't just take a 7.9% APR (different than APY) to calculate total interest in a 5 year loan... you'll be surprised to find that you're paying MORE than 1600 interest in your 5 year loan... in fact, you're spending more than that in interest in the first year. APR is the percentage RATE at which your lender takes, divides by 365 and computes that much interest in your principle (balance of the amount borrowed) daily. At the end of the day, that interest is added to your principle and the next day the bank takes the new balance and calculates interest on the new principle. When it's all said and done, with a monthly payment, you have 28-31 episodes of this interest compounding (accruing interest on interest) before you pay some principle and all of the compounded interest for the month.
As a result, a loan of $21,200 for 60 months at 7.9% APR is $428.85.
A $13,500 car can equate to the same monthly payment as a $35k car, it just depends if you want to owe money on the car forever and pay through the nose in finance charges. ($13.5k @7.9%APR for 24mo. = $610/month, $35k @7.9% APR for 72 mo. = $610/month. Total interest paid on $13,500 loan: $1100, total interest paid on $35k loan: $9000)
Math and knowledge of finance together are your best friend, especially when buying a $33-40k car.
If you're not good with the two, at least use this loan calculator so you at least have a clue what you're doing before you buy an expensive car only to find your total interest to be paid back is $9000:

1st of all...sti_to_evo...Mitsu was the largest gainer for automakers this year by posting a 15% increase in sales this past year. While not close to volume sales in the U.S., it was still the largest GAINER in the past year. Second of all, why do you feel you are getting ripped by selling the car over invoice? Try talking to a Toyota dealer about a Camry below invoice
