Think of it this way, everyone was proclaiming that the MR was going to be a heavy pig because it has the SST, leather, nav, sound deadening, etc. etc. The point is, those things added very little to the overall weight. Plus you have the advantage of less unsprung weight because of the forged BBSs and 2-piece front rotors.

Yes, the car is 200lbs heavier than the IX, but 200lbs isn't much to lose when the car handles like it's on rails out of the box.

Im my experience, CF is in actuality no more or less weight than your average aluminum hood. The biggest weight adds on the hood is the insulation.

The trunk is a different story since I haven't heard if the Evo X has an aluminum trunk or just plain steel like usual. CF would be significantly lighter than steel, as would removing the wing (specially since the new wing has no CF in it. Hopefully it doesn't flop around like the STi's old all-plastic wing did ).

A white evo x with a CF hood would look pretty hot. Can't wait to see one with one.

Supposedly the reason it's delayed is because they are working out the hiccups in the tranny's programming. The problem I'm sure is not the transmission itself, but the programming of the TCM.

It'll be released when thinks its ready to be released. That's why dealers are saying anywhere from a month to 3 months.

You might be surprised how often you really would use them. I wonder if while in auto mode, you would save a little more gas?
