Do all Evo X models have TPMS?
I see people at my local station filling tires ALL the time. I just have to laugh because they have no idea what their tire pressure is.

If you remove the TPMS sensor, then a separate TPMS idiot light should start to shine. I believe that it's a universal symbol, since it's the same on both my R32 and Forester.

Can you just delete that system outright? put on some resistor somewhere on the wire faking it to think all is ok. I'll be just fine without it as I look at my tires each time I go to the car and second, I can feel it if the tires are not inflated properly so I really don't need it or want it, or want to deal with extra sensors and crap on spare rims, etc.
Basically, you reset the system and it looks for a variance, quick loss, or leaks. I could pump the tires to their maximum pressure if I wanted (44psi) and reset, or to a really low level (28psi) and not cause the system to intervene. When I got a leak in the tire, the system would throw a light and require a reset.
When you change tires, you don't need to worry, the TPMS should last the life of the car if your tire guy does not damage them. You would only need them if you bought new wheels and wanted the light to go out.
Hope this helps.
Are you considering an Evo X, Ludi?

Possibly, although not for at least another year. It would allow me to 'retire' the VIII from street duties and turn it into a track only car. I've been fairly impressed with the X so far, but I'll wait to pass final judgement until I've driven a GSR and an MR.
