EVO X driving impressions
I am very much enjoying the new brake system in the X. I havent had any of the fade issues I had with the VIII. In fact, it was almost chronic on the VIII and brake fade on track days. I havent felt any softness yet, and everything seems to hold together really well in the trail braking. Great write-up Chrono!
Great writeup, glad to see a well seasoned driver give an honest review of the car. I think just like anything else people will resist change and not want to admit that their "baby" isn't the king of the hill anymore. I had an 8 and loved it...but I also love the X. Seems to me that people should be praising the car for what it is rather than bashing a car that most of them have never even driven (or possibly even seen in person).

nice review and no doubt the X is the better car vs the IX, but it is like comparing the 993 vs the 996 and the 997. Both the 996 and the 997 are better cars but the 993 has become the classic!
thanks for the good review. the second one here...
you makes me rethink the whole deal what i just said before...

= 997 and a wet RingX is a cool car, can't wait to get one myself but I'm holding out for a full active chassis car with SST, adaptive dampers, variable ratio steering, adaptive lights, rain sensing wipers...the works! I must be getting old
I wouldn't say old buddy, just seems like you appreciate the finer things...
can you also share a bit on the bad points of the X when compared to the IX (basically stuff you didn't like on the X). Thanks heaps.
Thanks for the review Chrono!
Always nice to see the "science / physics" behind all of the "hype / bling".
As for me and my house, I'm going to celebrate the EVO8 I have and leave the EVOX for when prices calm down a bit, or my wage calms up a bit.
Personally its still a little easier to put in ~10k more worth of parts on a paid for EVO8 than grab a new one at $40k+. The tinker factor is still way up for me on the EVO8, and it would probably suffice as a better track tool in the immediate future.
Regardless, great review!!
