Best deal on X, on East Coast.
I have been talking some numbers with two local Mitsu dealers, but I can't seem to get any where with them. The one seems like its a lot easer to deal with and negotiate with me, but the other dealer said "Price is not negotiable, theirs a $2,500 markup and theirs no need for us to bring the price down at all." So that dealer is pretty much out. The other one is going willing to give us 11,900 for our 04 Trailblazer and the $500 loyalty, but I don't want to spend more then $35,000 on the WW GSR with the Sound Sight and Performance package. They want $38,600, but there is a $2,500 markup in there. If I go in there and say $23,000 cash and the Trailblazer, do you think they'll laugh at me or do you think they will comeback with a counter offer? I don't have any experience with buying brand new cars and just kind of wanted to know if anybody got that markup knocked off the price here on the East Coast. Any help or hints on negotiating would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I'm 18 with a 750ish Credit Score, do you think it will help them take me more seriously if I let them check my credit even though I'll be getting the loan through my bank because of a killer interest rate. I know if your credit gets checked too much in a year it brings it down and I'm on that border line about now and was really hoping it wouldn't come down to that.

a galant vr4 and saab and a 04 trailblazer thats a whole lotta cars for an 18 year old
If you can, I would just wait it out. Prices are not going to stay that way for very long. However typically you will have more bargaining power with a dealership if you finance though them. Id check to see what kind of rate you can get with them

Wait for a couple of reasons... One, the prices will drop dramatically. Hell you can get one shipped from Cali for much much less. Two, I would not get a X until some of the possible bugs are fixed for next year, new colors are introduced, and there is plenty of aftermarket products available out there with reasonable amount of research behind them.

I have a $5500 loan paid in full, a best buy cc paid with a $.01 balance, a paypal cc payed in full(first cc) and have 15000 in a revolving overdraft account that I don't touch. The Saab is being sold, the Trailblazer would be a trade in, and the Gvr4 is mine forever. Thanks Milkman and 34turbo for the suggestions I'll see what kind of rate I can get through them. Are the California Evo's more restricted due to emissions and what are the prices like in AZ?
I also made a typo, I just turned 19 a week ago.

Good job on the credit score! Don't loose it. I had incredible credit by the time I was 19, but got ahead of myself.... Still have yet to rebuild my credit back to where it was (32 years old now).

if you dont find anything at a normal price remember you can get an evo all the way from cali for 1000 with Das autoshippers. I could not find a red evo IX mr in the whole east coast so thats what i did and even with me getting it from cali it cost me 2000 less than what the stealerships in the east coast wanted. In other words there is more variety at a better price over at the west coast.
