Unbelievable, not only is the EVO 8K more base price in Canada, but they are financing them at 8.25%, what's it going for in the US? I could get a better rate on a secured line of credit. With a 5K downpayment this car will cost you OVER $60,000 in Canada once you factoring in interest and tax.

rates here are 5.5 to 7.5% just depends. could do better from your own finance source.

I figured they would be about 5% here in Canada, but 8.25 is terrible.

What kind of rate did you get and what kind of credit score do you have if you don't mind me asking? ATM my score is mediocre at best, trying to work it up. Never had a credit card till a little over a year ago and I have a truck financed right now, so meh for 22. My buddy same age has a 720 another friend of mine has like a 780 or some garbage. I have to get mine up before I get one the end of this year or next year.

I hear you. I would consider bringing your own financing via CIBC or TD. I checked TD's auto loans and their offering 84 month on 07 and 08 year models at 6.7%. Not great, but much better than going through Mitsu.

The sad part is a friend and I went casually browsing the dealerships around us, and the in-house financing is so much better. Toyota 3.9%, Lexus 1.9%, Honda 0.9% on 84 months! Some were offering 4K cash back.... cmon Mitsu, geez.

Yea interest rates are garage for car loans right now. In 2003 I financed my EVO 8 through Bank of America at 4.25% for 72 months. Now there best rate for 72months is 5.75%. But I am glad someone brought this up because I am curious to what actual interest rates people are getting on their loans for the EVO. So post it up!!

I was hoping Mitsu would have some finance plan but not happening now. in 03 I got my evo with 2.9 . my credit is good so no trouble . I really was shooting for 4.9 but 5.5 is ok for the short term, i will pay it off early and I got what i wanted on my trade. so I felt we both did well. since i got another 1000 under MRSP.

Can you buy a car in the US and import it to Canada? Right now, that would be an incredible deal financially considering the Canadian dollar is currently worth more than the US dollar, plus you could take advantage of our much lower financing rates.

If you still owe on it and haven't refinanced, you may want to look into it. I got an 11% rate when I first bought my SRT-4 because it was a private party loan. I just refied with Bank Of America at 6.9%; kept my payment the same and dropped a year off the term.

No kidding. At the time I had no credit history and was trying to finance by myself, so I thought I did alright compared to maybe a 18% APR.
