Any second thoughts by Evo X owners?
Talk about bringing this thread back from the dead, its a year old, lol.
But to answer, I miss my 8 some, but overall I am very happy. My car is on the dyno now getting tuned, so maybe once I get it back the part of me that misses my 8 will forget somewhat.
I think down the road I will pick up an 8 as a project car though, maybe a nine if they are cheap by then and build a track car out of it, however the 10 is great.

Overall i'm pretty happy with the car, its been back to the dealer 3 times, and im still under 1000 miles.(999 right now). i've done some light modding so far with very good results, i also ordered my tbe today so we will see. i am very difficult to please with cars, i've had about 50 cars and im only 29...
I have second thoughts only because I didn't know I was going to find a reliable DD for $1200 during the winter. I couldn't bear to take the X out in the snow / gravel, especially with how delicate the paint is. I bought it because I live in Idaho and AWD is a must in the mountains. Now that I don't use it in the winter, I would honestly have gone with a used Z06 for the summer. I have a 4runner for trips, a bronco for winter, and the Z06 is a little more fun on the autocross front (IMO).
As far as the car goes, I have no doubts. It's everything I wanted at the time, and who knew circumstances would change. Right now, I'm just waiting for the snow to melt so I can bring it back out of the garage and get the accessport hooked up.

Me, I'm happy with my 2/3 Aero (no side skirts) and don't want any dang Nav. I bailed on my Sirius. Same ol. I never get lost, and if I do with the Evo, I got a phone and head. The wireless bluetooth thing I GOTTA do.
But on the topic, I have second thoughts. Really actually good ones. I was vying this buy against a Subie. Looking at both versions. I'd gone away from 2dr fun cars and Evo and the WRX and (for a short time only based on looks) its big bro STI. The Subies had quite a few things going for them. WRX was pretty cheap, compared to Evo, and was pretty drivable and fun. BUT..... it had understeer. BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. STI was pretty expensive too, had a bit of that understeer too unless you got wild, and was (DANG) ugly. BZZZZZZZZZZZ it came down to the buzzer. My wife was not gonna let me drop a big savings downpayment for this in two months I figured.
Second thougths: WOW! Who cares that the Evo has only RF and Ricaro going for the interior of the car. Two good things to say about it, not bad. I can ignore all the other cheap aspects (if I wear shades and don't count on the crappy sun visor) that show Mitsu cheapened the interior. But the second thoughts on the handling, zip and fun-factor are SO much in line with "Yeah, you made the right call. 8 months and still a grin that will not go away." I get chances to talk about my car from someone at work who heard about some time-trials at a test-and-tune... Stand back, I LOVE 2nd thoughts. They are great ones. First thoughts were of high expections.
When 2nd thoughts exceed extremely high expectations, I think I call it a success.
P.S. Had it for 8 months now. Plenty of time to have second thoughts, esp since I paid mostly cash for this that could have gone elsewhere. Heart goes 'thump thump' still. She completes me.

Bought my car in Dec. had it for almost 2 weeks and when back to Iraq. For the time that I had it before I left it was great.
Get back home next month and I'm going to drive the hell out of it.
No, parents are far from rich, i have a very good job and do well for myself. I've always found so sort of addiction to cars. I've been working since i was 14 bought my first car when i was 15 cleaned it up sold it, and bought another. Buying cars driving them for a little and selling for a profit is kinda my hobby.
