Holdback is generally for commisions , cleanup, gas, paying the title clerks....paying misc fees... I give it away on some cars

But 2.5 would be bad because I think mitsu wants to stay true to the WRC... Unlike subaru who has the 2.5 here and 2.0 elsewhere

I think the evo x publications have been very positive btw ... Except maybe this recent automobile mag comparo

NO SIXTH GEAR. Turning 3850 RPM in 5th at 80 mph.

As it is, it has many people on the fenceline.
You're right, all they had to do was just added more to what they already had.

The same group of people that traded in their 8 for a 9 would do the same with the 10 and also new comers that fall into the 10's hype.....but no they had this big *** boat that looks 100% like the lancer for 33+k and AYC when there really wasnt anything wrong with the old AWD system. Some people were just happy with their 03 without the ACD

I would have traded in my evo8 for a 2.5L evo x in a heart beat..beside just adding the same sh*t to any cars (intake and exhaust) you can go bigger turbo and try new things with 2.5L

BTW who the f*ck cars about wrc here in the good old usa anyway, i just wanna get to work going 0 to 60 in 3.5sec

Different strokes for different folks, but then again, who can resist a faster car. I would definitely be a lot happier with the EVO X if it came with a 2.5 liter engine.

Don't fret too much. I don't think Mitsu is concerned that some of the hard-liners don't like the EvoX. MORE people like the X than people dislike it. They will sell them all regardless of the bit*hing. They'll also sell all the RA's too. The markup dealers will come around or sit on the Evo X's for a while.

Thats the thing, they would have gotten both 8/9 owers and new comers...then we would all be one big happy famliy

But yet they came out with a car that only targeted one folks.....and the hard core here are moving on to the GTR, M3, and there a post for the Z06

Lexus did the same crap with their IS, all they had to do was added the 2jz-gte in the IS300 but no they had to make the IS250/IS350 two crappy car and now trying to make it up by making the IS-F

400hp 2.5L Evo X stock....now you have real buyers

But the ARE getting Evo 8/9 owners and newcomers, just not a select few people who choose to b*tch about the cars on the EvoM boards. Mitsu made a move to go after a more affluent buyer (on average) with the new Evo. The "hard core" are keeping their 8's and 9's for now until the new platform is proven. The guys buying the GTR, M3 and Z06 never really considered the Evo as seriously as the other 3 cars. As a total performance/dollar package the Evo X is still a good buy.

Mitsu goes after an older and more affluent buyer=less financing problems, less warranty work, more cars sold per showroom visits, and more influential to future business.

Lexus doesn't generally make mistakes with development and marketing of their cars. You guys forget that the car business is about VOLUME and PROFITABILITY, not catering to a couple thousand enthusiasts that cost companies lots of money in "warranty" work due to abuse. (Yes, most of EvoM abuse their cars)

I don't understand why so many people on this board are surprised at automotive development in car companies. Do you guys really think that every car company has a bunch of monkeys running the show? Okay, okay, there's Ford, GM and Chrysler but that's a different story.
