I'm not surprised the EVO won but man did it ever pull away. The 370Z Nismo looked slow in comparison.

Even if the NSX got around the U R A BUS, the EVO still pulled harder around the turns than the NSX. It would have been a good fight but my money is on the X!

You see this compression prove that evo is the best of it's own class.

The thing that plagues the Subbies are ****ty wheel bearings, suspension bushings, weird coolant leaks, and as they age, fuel line leaks....

I 2nd this. I used to own a 2.5 RS, rear wheel bearings went bad 3 times under 100K miles. Finally I couldn't taken it any more and got rig of the car.

Evo X vs 2008+ WRX and STI

---[Sorry to break into your post, Toxin, but I had to move the new content from the old thread into a new thread for 2010 since people were responding to posts from two years ago. We've had a few STI threads lately, and I figured we'd merge it all here. This thread can serve as a place where you can share experiences or opinions of your own.]--- (Noize)

It's been said on this forum SO many times. Take good care of your evo and the evo will take good care of you. If you can't afford to abuse your car and service it after then don't.

Both of my previous cars (8 and 9) have over 60k miles now, have gone through the timing belt service and they've been pushing 320 and 360 whp since the day I got them (about 15k miles on both at the time when I got them). The only thing I ever had a problem with was the transfer case that I broke on the 8. Let me say that again "I broke it." 300+ launches on the car, daily abuse. And still we weren't sure if it was really me that broke it in the end because the dealership put the wrong oil in the TC and it died about 3k miles after that service. It was replaced under warranty.

Let me say it again: Take good care of the Evo and it will be a long and joyful experience.

My Subies were extremely reliable, just regular maintenance required. STI trans is bulletproof. WRX trans is like glass, especially the rear of the drivetrain. The engines are reliable if you maintain them properly. Wheel bearings are a problem. So far my EVO has been reliable… in the 330 miles I’ve put on it so far

the sti are very well built i have had a wrx and now a evo x and built several sti's. The sti 6 speeds are great units !! proven time and time again, reliability and fit and finish goes to the sti, the engine is very reliable, the interior materials are a little better, and also the sti has a lot more usable space,

the evo has better preformance i think, and handles the basic mods very well, you wont get the same power as the evo x with the basic bolt on mods, but the interior on the evo x is a joke !! every thing rattles, and the materials are a joke also,

at the end both are great cars !! both have there goods and bads,
