ATTN VENDORS: RE Canadian customers

Dear Vendors,

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SHIP VIA UPS if you are sending to customers in Canada!
UPS is a HUGE rip off for us Canadians. They charge outrageous brokerage fees.
For Example, I got my package today from AMS it was for the Motor Mount and Shifter bushings. Those were $154. UPS showed up today and refused to give me my package until I paid them $160 in "brokerage" fees.

I know many US Vendors have accounts with UPS and dont like shipping with other companies like Fedex or USPS. I would suggest changing your shipping methods when sending to Canadians.

Thank you.

Ah brokerage fees...

My heavy eBay'ing days bring back bad, bad memories of brokerage fees...

USPS is by far the cheapest on the receiving end, though FedEx is better than UPS if it needs to be couriered.

Thanks for bring it to everyone's attention.

you should work that out with vendor prior to placing an order.

i am a vendor on other forums and have no problem taking the extra step of delivering the package to my usps office even if i am making 10USD on brake lines, as long as customer pays for shipping of course

I Hate UPS. Watch out, they may send you a letter telling you that you have not paid the COD. I dont see how i am going to get my package if i dont pay the collect on delivery fees. I dont know why they do it. I think they are trying to scam retarded people.

I found the error in why my "fees" were so high.

This is the first time in 7 years since I have received a package from UPS.
All it takes is to call them and whine. and they'll drop the charges.

+1 to this thread. UPS's brokerage has become highway robbery.

I'd try Fedex, they're a tad more reasonable.

We ship to Canada every single day. We only use DHL for international shipments unless something else is requested by the customer. UPS sucks for anything international. they are very good stateside though.
