i would at least practice on something else to make sure you at least know how its done. i think it would be pretty embarrassing stalling it in front of everyone at the dealers...lol

If you have 2k to burn go for it, If you suck and grind the gears to hell and F-UP your tranny, It's still might be possible to have them fix it on warranty, but if you wear out your clutch, Mitsu isnt going to replace that for free. Yes it might seem easier to learn on the EVO-X, because clutch feels real light,But its still AWD-Turbo.
I would do what most the other guys are telling you. Spend that 2k
and buy a used $500 -$1000 Civic or ToyotaCorrola, Once you master the art of slipping the clutch at a stop light uphill, And can say you can do it efficiently, without letting the car drift backyard. that's when you know you can control Your clutch footing. Then thats when you know Its time to pick up that EVO-X

Ive had a sti and the car was just a terrible experience... Terrible car as far as clutch feedback. But an evo is a great car to learn on. Dont let these forum guys tell you other wise. Hell if they could learn stick on with an evo they would too.. have fun brotha

I re-learned stick on my IX MR and had no problems at all, I've never even stalled it. I imagine the X will be even easier. But yeah put an hour or two in on a friends car and you'll be fine.

Slipping the clutch is not a good thing as far as wear at all. It's better to stall and be embarrased than to slip the clutch. Take some 'slightly' better advice, use the brakes on a hill please. You will thank me for it.
Hmm.. let me see here, this guys is new learning how to drive a stick shift.because he wants a EVO-X. Have you driven an EVO-X yet? The Clutch has A longer throw then the Older Evo.
So yes i know dam well not to ride the clutch if you're at stop for like 2 to 5 mins. I was thinking more in terms of the1 or 2 sec before the light turns green, you should be in gear and ready to go. He is stop on a hill at a stoplight. Do you want him to slip the clutch alittle so he is ready to go before the light turn green, Or risk stalling and or slipping backward and hitting the car behind him? Like i said buy a $500 car,
something you can just trash after you can control your clutch footing.

Whatever you do, learn manual. Manual is what separates the male drivers from the female drivers.

Ha ha. It's funny because it's partially true. I know that I will pretty much be the only one who drives my car, since it's manual!

^ Only honda Warranty Clutches, Mitsu Dont warranty clutch forsure.
Ask any EVO-8 Owners, Back when the 1st batch of EVO-8 came out, clutch lasting
only 5K to 10K miles, Even some alot less then 5k mile. Mitsu blame the drivers,
and will not accepted the fact they had a faulty clutch issue.
