you gotta admit honda interiors have always been nicer...then again, if you had honda make an awd sedan with all the skills of an evo for the same price, i bet they'd have to do some cost savings with the interior also

 

You know what, I thought about this after posting, and looked at mine. That is exactly what this is! You can even see the amp in dude's pic. Great post, man. You've debunked this silly accusation.

If there is one car Mitsu engineers did not skimp on at all, its the Lancer line. They are purpose built to be great IMO.

 

Looks better with out the cheap plastic cover anyway, just my 2cents

it was probably removed to install the amp. then possibly not put back... who knows. anyhow, you bought the wrong car if you are looking for a lush interior..

 

when you go to the dealer complaining weird sound coming from outside the cabin and they found improper PDI was done and spring inserts weren't removed from the car!

Hmm, I didn't even think about the amp thing. Good call, that probably is why there is a cover on the pssanger side and not on the driver side.

 

I have had that happen on 3 of my BMWs - we only found it as we were installing coil overs at our shop (generally as soon as we get her from dealers'). So it's just not Mitsus nor inexpensive Japanese autos; really it's why America no longer matters globally. Our workmanship is substandard yet we want top wages. Never heard of such a thing happening when living in Japan.
