Here at AMS we don’t just start bolting on parts to a car and claim they work. Each car we choose to work on is subject to extensive testing to see how it performs in the stock form and improvements are made according to results of such testing. Naturally it is the same approach we applied to the EVO X which we have had the pleasure to test.

We were waiting for the weather to get better to be able to take the car to the track and see how it stacks up to its predecessors. We found out Autobahn Country Club in Joliet was finally re-opening for the season on April 1st, we returned the car to its stock shape and headed to the track to do some baseline testing on the X.

We arrived at the track 9 am. Tuesday and we are proud to announce our EVO X is officially the first car to go on the track in 2008! The weather was in the low 40s but the wind made it feel like it was 10 below! Ecstatic to see what the car would do we took it out for a few warm up laps only to find the track to be semi wet with streams of water running across the surface in the key areas of the course. Due to the condition of the track we were not able to push the car as hard as we would like to which rendered our test session inconclusive.

Our plan is to return to the track this weekend as the weather calls for 50+ degrees. We will post our findings as soon as we have them!

Nice, but how come you aren't running your catback? seems like the stock exhaust in the pic. Don't you guys have that single catback? wait, never mind. Just noticed where it says that it is testing in stock form. Cool to see you guys on the track, how is the Joliet track?
