Service Engine Soon light

Only had my Evo X for less than a month. Had the first oil change at South Coast last Tuesday at approx 1250 miles and now at 1330 miles the Service Engine light has come on.

The car appears to run fine. I did have it die once while idling. Any ideas what it could be? Going to try and make an appointment at South Coast early this week. Hoping to get the reflash done at the same time.

Service Engine Soon Light

Had my appointment at South Coast this morning.

Rigo hooked my car up to the diagnostic machine and it spit back the P01320 code that people have mentioned before.

He did the April reflash and everything is good now.

Im wondering if this is just a westcoast thing? Is there anybody on the east side that's having these issues? Making reference to the gas..

I recently had a reflash done. Idle is better, i notice a little difference in the pull after 5k rpm, but now engine light just turned on. *sigh*

The dealership had mentioned that it's a revisit of the previous flash, and was the latest.

same thing happened to me (about 24 hours after I got my flash) but the CEL went away on it's own within a day, so I never brought it back to the dealership.

My check engine light came on also, I took it to the dealer and they said my gas cap was not tightened enough? Not sure if they were lying or telling the truth. Anyway the light never came back on.

yes, that will happen if your cap isn't tight.

checked the gas cap. no dice.

A little frustrated. The first time I took it in for a reflash, they couldn't do it due to computer complications... So I got an oil change, it was pretty early but eh, trying to take good care of her.

I took it in again for the reflash. The dealer tells me that they have a newer reflash... haven't heard anything about that, but it was said and done. I was skeptical, but figured it would be ok.

I'm taking it in again to get the service engine light sorted out.

Still under 2k miles...

I went to a dealer this morning and ended up demanding they do the flash. They were of the opinion that if there was no CEL they didn't have to do it. I offered to force the CEL and after a loud discusstion on the finer points of the English language and the definitions of SOME and MAY they finally relented. Scheduled for the flash a week from today. I think the only reason I haven't seen the CEL is I've only run 93 octane and the car never idles as my commute is all highway.

Took my car into the shop this morning. They hooked it up to diagnostics and it said that I needed the reflash. this is after I received the reflash.

They sorted it out by clearing it and all seems well now. Tomorrow is another day.

got the ol' service engine soon light this morning first thing about 2 seconds after I started my car up...car runs fine and pulls hard but the light is annoying...I'm going to try the gas cap and make sure its tight and I guess have it scanned tonight if that doesn't make it go away...a little displeased at the moment.

All of this CEL drama on a brand new car. My, my, my, . . .

This type of stuff builds reputations and should never occur.
