I have had the x for 2 months and I get the looks and the rev's. Had an early integera and honda accords try to race me. I just laugh, gas is to much to prove a point lol.

 

That's weired I get lots of attention every day driving and coming back from work... I've alway love the Evo, even my 8 drew lots of attention. No matter where you go as long as you drive an Evo you will always get people looking at your ride... The Evo families are well respected cars...

I think the X looks way too similar to the new Lancer series. Not enough changes to distinguish the serious difference, physically.

 

Well, i own a Lancer GTS, i think there is about 50% of similarity between evo X and GTS. Accolade offers evo x conversion kits, that too my understanding are same exact fit. I do get questions about my car "is that the new evo x?" "Wow i have never seen one up close" One guy took a picture of my car while i was pumping gas and have sent to his buddies in Morocco, telling them that he seen the new evo x. I know some of them might not know too much about cars, but if they say these things about my car, i guess there is al lot of similarity.

Nice Jake. I to own the Lancer GTS, I just get stares no rev's yet well 2, one a bimmer, the other, g35.

 

I drove a GTS for over a year, never received revs looks or any of the above. The day I drove my X to work everyone was telling me I had a nice car, male and female. You must remember the EVOLUTION is by all means a spin off to the base Lancer! I now receive stares, revs, thumbs up, and man this kills my brother STI comments.

I even had haters of my GTS fall in love with my EVO. I said this once before and was warned about it, the GTS holds it's own against the EVO (visually) and to an extent performance wise! You guys have to remember the pre-08 era Lancer did a whopping 0-60 in a little under 12 seconds compared to a 0-60 in 7.1 via (2.4L GTS).

Trust me the GTS is way out matched by the EVO, actually it's like bringing a knife to a GUN fight, however it's a huge improvement over the last GEN. To be truthfully honest the EVO is FAR from a GTS. Mitsu uses a small fraction of parts from the base Lancer in order to keep cost down. To me the EVO X is far more attractive than any car "KNOWN TO MAN"! I'm hooked and always have been, it took me numerous years to be in the position to buy one, and at last the wait is over.

The front and rear bumpers are different, the quarter panels, the wing, the roof, the hood, the doors and gas tank lid. Pretty much the way the last gen EVO was compared to the OZ, except this time Mitsu got it right by keeping the base Lancer attractive! Face it guys, not everyone can afford an EVO, and what happens if the EVO is your favorite car, the GTS would be the next best thing!!! Trust me... I was one of those guys, from a 05 Lancer OZ to the apex Silver 08 GTS and last but not least an apex silver EVO X.

I enjoyed the GTS, it's one of those cars I'll never forget and I'm happy to see people enjoy them. Mitsubishi got this right, trust me! I passed a black GTS today and give him a thumbs up.

I still haven't seen a X on the road, the same 7 that were at my local dealer at the launch of the X are still sitting there. I usuually see VIIIs or other IXs about once every 1-2 weeks.

 

Comments continued once again today, dude was totally floored the Evolution had so many goodies and said we was driving to the dealership to look at all the colors, I guess he just totaled his 01 galant??? More attention my GTS never achieved!

 

People walk around and look inside the car all the time on the school parking lot.

 

Oh yea I get the looks, and it feels good to know their looking. I know I have something nice.

 

I drove a great condition musclecar (68) for 3 years prior to getting the X. I got a lot more attention in that obviously, and better quality attention too. I get all the kids in Four-Tone paintjob civics getting all excited and junk and wanting to talk. "This is nice man! I've put *exhaust, intake, bodykit and a SHIFT KNOB* on my car". ***** please.

Thats probably because it was in the 2nd and 3rd FandF movies...

 

I dunno...a nice Lambo or Ferrari tends to make getting the ladies a little easier .
