I love my sunroof.. I've had it on all my other vehicles.. Never had a problem with them.. I'd definately get one..

 

Well - I see some are talking about weight and height and going to a steel roof if using a moonroof or sun roof.

The question I have is, can having such a thing on top of the roof have such a dramatic influence on the MR's performance?

 

I've had a sunroof in my prior car, but to be honest I never really used it, especially when its hot, the sun just hits you and its not pleasant... Anyway I have an Evo X GSR and I dont miss it one bit.

 

there is nothing like cruising thru laguna beach with the gf with all the windows and the sun roof open listening to some good tuness. had it in my 96 eclipse gs-t, and now in my gts and i would get it in my soon gsr, if they offered it. but not willing to upgrade to mr over that. i think manual transmissions are way to fun for now ... im 18 =] and saving my money for the evoooooooo =]

Yes adding a sunroof will make the car heaver - the electric motor etc etc, plus the fact that you lose the aluminium roof so there's more weight gain there, but I must have a sunroof. That is all.

This is my first car out of 5 that's never had a moon roof, I really don't mind but they are nice! I miss bluetooth the most!!!

 

I have also read that the roof is steel when you get a sunroof. I better not see this option on anyones car who complains "The X is too heavy!". Haha

 

In Canada the MR premium comes with a sunroof, and yes the roof is steel. This it different than US and any other countries.

 

So then the roof isn't steel for U.S. customers?


Really though everyone, how big of a deal in weight are we talking? Is it really going to make that dramatic of an influence on the MR's performance and speed and acceleration?

 

Its more weight at the highest point on the car. However, it could be a negligible amount, I don't know.

 

I'll pass on the sunroof, keeps the center of gravity down. On the Evo 8s it added 50 lbs up top!

 

So the sunroof comes with a certain package?

What else comes in that particular package?

so all that comes with the sunroof if you want that as an option. I don't think you can get the sunroof separate from the other options.
