The moleskin has got to be better than just the bare plastic rubbing the window.

I have had 3M tint done 2 1/2 months ago. Hopefully that fix works for you, I'd recommend just getting a quality tint done by a known company. I have a lifetime warranty against scratches bubbles etc with no need for the moleskin.

hope it works out for you.

Just had my tint done today and so far so good. Sometimes the quality of tint depends on the place that does the tinting for you.

I think you will still get scratches. Take a look at the inner molding on the window and you will see how hard it is. The imagine that rubbing up and down your window.

Sir1998,

Did you use Tint Protector Moleskin or the generic moleskin?

Tint Protector uses an Acylic resin. The same stuff in Super Glue.

If you didnt get it from Tint Protector then it's the crap stuff that falls off.

My X came with tint from the dealer.. After about two weeks the drivers side door had a pretty deep scratch in it from regular window usuage.

I took it back to them and they said they already had done their "fix" which is to remove the top weather strip from the door. As the service tech was showing me how the fixed it I noticed by removing the top weather strip all kinds of dirt/dust was all over the lower weather strip..

I just got the car back today and was looking over it pretty closely.. Now the passenger window is showing signs of scratching.. Looks like it will go back on Tuesday..

Anyone ever hear about their "fix" to the problem.. Removing the top weather strip just doesn't see like a good idea to me.. I am sure the new tint on the drivers door will last about another two weeks or so..

^ i would have them replace all the weather stripping for the windows since they removed the top weather strip and then tell them to add the moleskin. Also those weather strips help keep out sound and wind noise and make a big differance. I drove around for a couple of days with the weather strip removed while I was aplying my moleskin and the road noise was very loud. I am so glad I have it back in now.

So 3 weeks later and my tint is starting to scratch again.. SO the dealer fix for removing the top part of the weather strip isn't working. I called them and told them I want the weather strip pieces that they removed and they actually told me no.. So it looks like I am off to the dealer to stir up the pot. I never thought it would be too much to ask for pieced of my car that THEY removed back..

I think I am just going to ask for a refund, use the tint protector felt and go somewhere else to have them tinted.. Getting them re-tinted every 3 weeks isn't going to work for me
