no thanks. I love fresh air, but I hate sunlight and being hot.
If its such a huge structural advantage then why is the AMS carbon roof just glued in place?Originally Posted by mike100

There are some benefits to having a sunroof in my evo:
* There are vents in the sunroof cover, and with it popped up and the cover closed, it creates a slight steady vaccuum and constantly sucks a small amount of air out of the cabin. This makes it so when it's cold and the heater is on full blast, you get enough circulation to make it not so much like an oven (heats more evenly, think convection oven as opposed to radiant heat oven). But it doesn't take enough air out to cool it down much so it's still toasty. The windows just don't have the same effect since the air is more turbulent and sometimes you get air blowing on you directly from a window. Plus it's high-pressure air so it's not acting with the HVAC system to get a nice even circulation.
* It has the same effect with circulation when trying to cool down the car with the A/C. It helps the air circulate evenly and comfortably with popped up and the cover still closed.
* There is something about opening up the sunroof in early springtime that you just don't get with just the windows down. That bit of sun shining on you after winter is starting to give way to spring (especially in oregon) is really nice, and signals the beginning of fun in the sun.
* Girls are more likely to lift their shirt up standing outside a sunroof than a window.
* From the outside, with the sunroof popped up, it makes it look kinda cool. Breaks up the roofline.
* If you are driving on the freeway, you can have your sunroof open in light rain for circulation and to keep it from fogging up since it has an air deflector and rain channels that work great. Can't do that with windows down without the ghey window covers.
* When it's parked and it's hot out, you can leave the roof popped open but with the cover closed, and it lets some of the hot air out. If you crack your windows people are more likely to try to jack your stuff.
