gah! just got rear-ended -.-"
nice im a bit north, off the 56
the $509 for the rear bumper and the diffuser, does the bumper come painted already from mitsubishi? if not i would just repaint the bumper and buy a new diffuser. not too maybe options for rear bumpers as of the moment, maybe just the black illusion one, and the cwest will be coming out soon

The silver looks like it can be repaired....take it to a shop to see what they think. There looks to be no damage that can't be fixed on the silver. And then replace the diffuser....
and then i guess i'll consider it if not then ask my friend =\
Different insurance companies have different philosophy's on repair parts. Some insurance companies like State Farm and Erie do not put aftermarket or generic parts on cars unless absolutely necessary (ie cannot obtain OEM replacement parts.) Unless you specify that you want an aftermarket bumper, like a C-west or something, then that's no problem. Other cheap ins companies will try to cut costs any way they can by putting generic or used parts on cars. Don't worry though, the X is so new that they have no other choice than to get OEM or JDM body parts. Good luck with the repair process. Sorry to hear the bad news.
I'm pretty sure your car has a low speed impact bumper just like everyone elses that is probably crushed to ****, so its a bit more than repainting, make sure you get it completely replaced if thats the case. Otherwise, that sucks and GL getting a new one. Also may want to make sure your exhaust is ok, looks fine to me but ya never know
Let the insurance companies fight over who pays for what. You were not at fault so no worries. Once I was in an accident (a minor one too) and the other guys' insurance company started calling me with questions, and I just told them to call my insurance company and refused to talked to them at all. They never bothered me again and the repairs were paid for.
I'm getting a full replacement for the bumper, both the silver and the black part.
The adjuster called in to mitsubishi and like I said earlier, mitsubishi only sells the whole set according to the adjuster, they don't only sell the black or only the silver part of it, it has to be the whole set.
anyways as for my exhaust, I was looking at it and making sure it was fine, and it seem fine no damage, and from what I remember it was like 1-2 cm away from the crash, so the exhaust got lucky? but yeah, it didn't hit it from the looks of it, and I checked it and it wasn't like loose or anything. so I hope nothing actually happened it.
