P0300 code :(

My car keeps throwing a P0300 code, I looked it up and it is a random misfire. Is this something the reflash will take care of? If not should I change my spark plugs and hope the code goes away?

Thanks in advance
Erin

Great, the main issue with the evo 8s has cropped up on the X.

very common on 2003 evos I had it too; it comes on and off
it will go away if you keep driving it or pull battery cable and reset the ecu
sometimes if i have patience,i will drive it till it goes away but
when im bugged about that stupid ses light, i just pull off the batter cable and
reset it.
but its not a big deal

If you have ROM 94170008, you might try upgrading to the latest Mitsu ROM 94170014 or even ...015. The newer ROMs have been known to cure the P0300 code issue. Read about it here.

+1 for the warranty while you still have it, definitely take it back to the dealer and get it checked out. Especially if its throwing a code. Mine back fires but doesn't throw a code, Damn Z chip come out already!

i know this happned to me beause of my cams i had on my 8. I know the cams was the cause of the code because i just turned the car back stock and the code never came back.

but i never heard of this on a X

The main difference here is that on VIII's the code was false. There really was no random or multiple misfires in 99% of the cases. Your X might have a real mis.
