Suck it Prius
my gf's prius is getting 48.2 mpg over 18000 miles. i can reset her mpg and coast down a hill and get 99 mpg.. lol
I plan on doing a info screen MPG reset by driving the same flat road stretch at different MPH in 5th. Initial findings were:
80 MPH = ~22 MPG
75 MPH = ~24 MPG
70 MPH = ~25 MPG
65 MPH = ~26 MPG
60 MPH = ~27 MPG
I'll try and get more detail numbers posted but any time you can lug the engine at low or no boost in 5th you'll get very high MPG ratings. For my 320 mile trip to the shootout I was just about running out of gas after a full tank and averaged 23-25 mpg depending on speed. I guess you can get somewhat gutsy with an extra 5 gal fuel container in the trunk, although adding fuel on the shoulder with cars zooming by at night on the driver's side would have been interesting!
