evo x rally video
A. the car will literally fall on its face if you go WOT with a blown IC pipe. He clearly was accelerating between the turns with at least stock levels of power.
B. Even if he had damaged his IC pipe, and had no power because of it, why wouldn't he stop the run especially so close to the beginning.
Holy Macrel he hit the Hay!
If you listen closely you can hear extra air rushing from somewhere, likely a boost leak from the IC pipes. I bet that turbo was glowing red trying to keep the boost filled in the engine. It's amazing the Evo X survived that driver.

He looked slow at the higher elevation switchbacks...like he didn't have enough speed to even use the whole road. Try taking a low compression normally aspirated motor to 10,000 ft and see how fast it goes. Probably had about 87 hp near the top of the mountain if indeed his IC pipe was off.
He's VERY tenative that's for sure. He may be faster in another type of racing. I really think that he was worried about his brand new Evo X and not balling it up the first time out at Pikes Peak.
Well he almost did that right off the bat on the hay barrier, I would imagine he was slightly rattled and slowed down a bit if he knew there were problems.
It's just funny how everyone is bashing this guy, when half of everyone on here doesn't even have the ***** to try and do something like this.... And if they did **** turn-in line, braking points....I just want to make it to the top safely my first try. It's like your first time on the track....your nothing like HPDE 4 drivers....so what makes everyone think he's going to be perfect?
Like I said when you are dead on with YOUR lines and braking points on Pikes Peak....I'll be with you on his "bad" job of running the course. But honestly I would probably want to try to just make it safe to the top after his mishap with the bales....yes that was a dumb *** mistake but I'm sure he was nervious as hell, and I have no doubt all of you would be....Hell taking me Evo to a Road Course for the first time had me nervous as hell....I would like to see what everyone who is bashing this guy could then do on this course....

you got some good point, we are not perfect away we drive , not even close. But hey we dont have to...
Somebody who drives those build cars and have sponsors, they at least have to drive on the racing line, know the right gear before turn /since the evo is slow in fast out
/ , know when is the breaking point and at least use the left foot breaking . Now he might did left foot break on gravel since no proof he didn't /i highly doubt about the car attitude in the turns/ he clearly lacking in others. Which are the most basics in racing. He dont have to be the best for sure, but if you have serious problem , specially when you doing hill climbing ,where you loosing HP rapidly as you going higher, you need to pull out .
Not just for safety, or safe yourself from critics and the team.
Why you are struggling and do unforeseen damage on the sponsored car, plus taking risk with an unbalanced car/ since has no power/ etc.
And the questions can go on and on.
PS. Im actually really happy to see the X in race and nicely build X's. So huge thumb up for them . Also yes he take a risk to race with the car and etc. But soon you step into the spot light, you have to be ready for the critics. And that can actually make you better, if you can handle it.

The guy driving the car is not a very good driver. I'm not going to talk a bunch of smack, but as someone else said his turn in points were bad, his choice of gears was terrible, braking points were too early with too much coasting before the turns came up, the list goes on and on. This doesn't make me want to visit this guys website, let's just term it that way.
