I second the idea of the shift boot. It's the cheapest (worst) part of the interior, and a nice alcantara replacement really ups the look and feel. You also get to personalize it by selecting the color, material, and stitching.

If you want to get even more involved, save some money, and have it sooner, you could make him one yourself. It is extremely simple if you have a sewing machine, and there is a How-To article in the How-To section here on the site.

Good luck!

if he is not planning on heavily modding then i would consider a K&N drop-in filter. They're like 50 bucks and the part number is 33-2393 (I believe). Otherwise I would just get him a cosmetic improvement like a shifter boot or knob and let him handle all the engine mods himself.

i read someone mentioned a manual boost controller. I figured i'd chime in by suggesting you not buy something that would void his warranty unless your sure he wouldn't mind.

I'd stick with cosmetic mods JUUUUUST in case.

ARC Shift Knob in the flat finish he will love you forever. It is pricy and i was hesitant about buying it but now i love it. In the summer time it tends to get hot though.

Works Short Shifter

My gf got me one for my b'day - and it was an excellent gift!
Probably one of the best ones I've gotten, ever.

I think they run about $140 or so.
