Personally I would only choose the GSR I am a firm believer of Evolutions being manual trans axle. Those are the main differences you stated and of course the automatic transmission.

Deannn, you're not in the US, so things are different there... here our GSR is a 5 speed manual and the MR is only available with the SST. There is no such thing as the power pack.

ye, here is the same GSR can come sst or maual and mr comes only sst.

im in Australia, powerpack is just MR wheels, breaks and suspension apperantly, for extra 4,151 USD.

im just trying to work out if its cheaper to get my own afermarket wheels and suspension, breaks.

I wanted the MR because of it's trans apparently being able to react faster than a human can. Problem with it is, the shift programming apparently gets jacked up when you do any significant power mods, killing it's advantage. Hopefully someone will have a solution in a year or two. I leased my GSR for 24 months hoping that's the case

Mke sure you know the difference between flywheel hp, and horsepower at the wheels. Any dyno you go to is gonna measure at the wheels. 340 flywheel horsepower is less than 300hp at the wheels.
I personally am looking at 360 + at the wheels. My 9 worked well with the power, so that's where I want to be on my 10

well when they say just hp, they usaly mean at the flywheel. Hp at wheels is usaly 15% or soo less on maunal car. by the time it travels from flywheel through drivetrain. not sure with sst, but auto gearbox loss is bit more round 20% ?

The factories will use an engine dyno, because they have the capabilities and time to hook up a motor, and read the power at the flywheel(not to mention it's always a higher figure, which is good for marketing). Everybody else has the car with the motor mounted inside, and pulls it up on to a chassis dyno. The driveline takes power to turn, so you loose roughly 20% +/- to the wheels. "Wheel Horsepower" (WHP) is the term most commonly used on this forum, and it's pretty much the only relative figure. I've never heard of anyone strapping on a motor, and going to the track, so what the car puts down to the ground is what's important.
