You've got to be kidding me...
+2 on the GSR. The GSR would walk a RA. The MR's are to heavy and losing to much hp though the tranny. The MR dynoed at 203awhp on a MD as for the GSR was about 230awhp on a MD.
Based on what, lore and speculation? I haven't seen any documentation that the RA has a "weaker" version of the SST. The S-Sport mode is removed, that's all they've said.
For 40K one would hope the MR to be faster than its rival's step down model, the base WRX, which it isn't. They have the same acceleration. Except one is 14K cheaper.

A car (ralliart) which is the step down (not-evo-yet-better-lancer as described by Mitsubishi) should not be within 2 tenths of the company's flagship performance vehicle, which is 14k its elder. The EVO MR's acceleration should have more of a distance between the two, especially for the 40K pricetag.
I think the EVO MR is a great car, but considering its acceleration performance, Recaros, and dual clutch transmission can be had for 14K and two tens of a second less for fourteen thousand dollars cheaper... Doesn't this stick out for anyone else? I know the EVO should waste a ralliart or base WRX in the turns, but I guess i was hoping for a little more.
Don't get me wrong, the EVO X MR looks and sounds to be a great car, but a 4.9 second or faster 0-60 with a reflash, more boost, or new turbo design seems to be a reasonable request FROM THE FACTORY without having to buy a car for 40K, only to have to immediately mod it to keep up or beat a stock WRX.

MItsu need to bring that up to 240 and 280 at least for 09
well.. there are plenty of hondas that will leave you in the dust as far as the 1/4 mile or 0-60 times.... very rarely do you buy an Evo for those things... When you get into the twisties... you will understand why there is a 14K difference
This is insance. I cannot believe the Ralliart is pulling such good times. I know when I got my MR, i did think it was a little slow stock, but I bought my EVO for the whole package, and I knew that i would have insane moding potential. I am guess the Ralliart will not have as much modification room in it.
I don't understand how you guy's think the ralliart has less potential, It looks like whatever mods (engine/tranny wise) the mr gets u can apply it to the ralliart since it has the same engine and tranny. so that turbo kit for the mr/gsr don't be surprised if that ralliart next to you has the same package with money to spare

The MR is aimed at an older audience 30+ year old who wants a more all-around car than pure performance. Something you can drive every day in full comfort and still go pretty fast when you want to push it. It is not the one-trick horse older Evos were. And if straight line is what you are looking for - the domestic cars have you covered.

Tell somebody you drive an Evo and they're all like
