Would you buy a "damaged" Navigation system?

I have the opportunity to buy a nav system that is missing the toggle knob thing on the lower right. Looks like it just snapped off. Price is $750.

Worth it?

without that you can't scroll the pointer to pick a place or to see what something is.

Also you use it to select things on DVDs (like in the menu).

Maybe you could take it apart and replace it?

^ what he said. Can you possibly get it repaired through warranty? I would look into that.

you can get a decent garmin for like 200$ now, GPS have come way down in price, you might want to do some research.

I know how cheap a regular portable navi is.

But the stock system is much much more than just a navigation system

FWIW, i turned it down and its back up on ebay.

I would def buy that at $750. The system is great for a stock navi, and the hard drive + other features are really worth it IMO. I would see about ordering a replacement scroll knob because you'll definitely want that.

On the other hand, you can buy a nice aftermarket navi with pretty much the same features for not much more than $750...

I vote for stock!

Post the link-I'll buy it and spend $5 on the knob (dealer can get it for you) and be supercool like all the other kids

I would definitely make sure you can actually buy the knob seperately, and that's the only thing wrong with it before I bought it. You need to also ask yourself, if it is so easy and cheap to fix, why didn't the guy fix it first? He'd more than get his money back...right?

A $750 paper weight is a waste of money
