Evolution X MR
Evolution X MR
Hey guys, haven't been on this forum in a while since I don't own a Evolution. Its been quite a few months now since the MR has been released and once again I'm looking @ it. I chose a 08 G35 over the current MR for reasons that I won't state but lets just say I am not happy with it. I'm thinking about getting a MR in the next few months and I was wondering how the car is performing in the real world.
1. The Tech pkg on the MR - is the plug AUX or ipod? - If you do want ipod how to get that
2. Has the ECU been fixed since the GSR?
3. How as modding gone with the Advanced 6speed automatic
4. Gas Mileage
5. Backup cam?!

The tech package comes with the aux port. My car is slightly modded, I don't have any major problems at all. I had no ecu reflashes from the dealer, so it doesn't have that problem like the GSR. MY gas mileage, with me punching it here and there is like around 19-20 on average. I traded in a g37 for this just to let u know.
Just test drive one and see.

1. Aux
2. fixed? It still runs rich, but in theory it has the factory reflash.
3. hit or miss. It seems that there are varied reports of what happens when you mod. I would avoid large WHP increases.
4. 8-24 depending on how you drive mixed driving.
The biggest issue I have would be the SST on the track. For most people it's likely not an issue, but it appears that an oil/transmission cooler is something that Mitsubishi will have to at least consider on the SST (much like the 335i required an oil cooler added 6 months into the 2007 model year).

3. No idea.
4. 11 avg after starting up, 19 street warmed up, 25 highway. Most out of one tank: about 200miles.

The tech package comes with the nav. You can easily add a back-up camera by following the steps in post on this forum. I have installed one already and its real easy.
There is no way to make the factory radio or nav control a ipod but there is a audio left and right + video in under the HVAC controls. You can plug that into a ipod. This will allow the the audio to come through the car speakers and video through the nav screen.
Hope this helps.
