Cut as much weight out of the car that you can. Less weight to move around means less weight to accelerate, therefore saving gas.

Believe it or not, simply having your car properly mapped. I know the feds/carb are all over altering your AFR, but the reality is cars/bikes/trucks..everything with a warranty comes from the factory extremely rich up top. They do it because having a fat mixture when the motor is WFO is "safer" for the motor than a lean one. Truth is, a perfect AFR doesn't hurt anything, and has your car putting out less emissions than when it was stock. The gov'ment does all it's testing down low in the rpm's, and there, the factories set it lean. Since they don't test at WFO, the factories set it fat, to lessen their warranty repairs. Once again, a good AFR isn't harmful to a motor, but when does everything have to make sense?
If you truly want to make an impact, instead of making your Evo grow flowers out it's ***, try riding your bicycle more often.

I've spoken with a couple automotive engineers regarding why turbo cars run so freakin rich from the factory. Essentially, it's to keep the cat from melting/maintaining a long life of the cat. If the car melts, there goes your emissions.

the X can run e85? i thought having a all aluminum block and having e85 do not mix.

my contribution: its all about your driving habits, top gear did a test with a prius (hyrbid) and the new e92 m3. They had the prius pace(lead) the m3 around the track and at the end the m3 had better gas mileage than the prius.

try one of those "hydrogen" kits (its actually "browns gas") they improve MPG with just water added.

or pull the engine, drop in a turbo diesil and burn veggie oil.

Honestly when I said going green I was actually refering to save my cash at the pump... all this growning flower and stuff iss just off the topic... maybe by saying green it lead to the thought of planting trees and being a hippie but nah I just want to save cash at the pump...

put a test pipe on (get rid of your cat)
Get a tune for the car ( i suggest the Zchip from TTP for warranty issues)

Get a Hydro set up on it (browns gas, you can build one for about 65 bucks in materials)

try to stay out of boost, dont go past 20% throttle for every day driving, the less the better! short shift, keep the RPM's down.

All this together will make a significant difference. any one of these things will be noticeable
